Heller Tool Co., founded in 1836.
The Simonds "Red Tang" trademark has become one of the most respected
symbols of quality and reliability in the marketplace today. Every
Simonds file is precision-cut for uniform tooth height and sharpness.
Then, they are scientifically heat treated for optimum hardness before
being individually inspected for uniformity and maximum cutting
ability.
The expertise required to produce magnets and magnetic tooling of the highest
quality is only acquired through years of metalworking experience. Simonds'
experience dates back to World War I, when our Lockport NY Steel Mill first
started rolling magnetic steel materials. In the mid-1930's, Simonds was
instrumental in the development of Alnico magnetic material and continued to
develop new magnetic steels through the '70's. Today, Simonds Strong-Mag
magnets are respected for their true craftsmanship and consistent quality
- Simonds hallmarks.
